Cambridge, UK

Cambridge the home of one of the worlds most respected universities, Cambridge University.   The melting pot of tomorrows world leaders, academics and super mario brothers making balloon animals in malls across all the great cities of the world.
We have stopped here for the afternoon on our way to Stansted Airport where we stay for one night then fly out tomorrow afternoon to Italy.  I must say it has been a rather pleasant afternoon.
I have been told Cambridge University came about when a bunch of monks who helped set up Oxford University fled here hundreds of years ago to avoid the civil unrest in Oxford.
Apparently the first universities in Oxford where monastaries set up by monks as places of worship and for the first time places of higher learning.  The local townsfolk didn't like this closed circle and class distinction so they revolted against the monks in a constant civil war (I dont know why or what they expected, when your a scum bag peasant living outside the walls thats what you are, get used to it).
Anyway these monks fled the city and set up Cambridge.  Some call them pioneers,  where I come from we call them chicken runners - just calling it as I see it folks.
There must of been eight monks and a cox that fled and they must have come over by boat because there is a race between the two universities every year.  The first race was in 1829, Cambridge have won 81 times and Oxford 76 with 1 draw.
Oxford continue the tradition of fighting with dissention in team ranks three times over the years with teams being changed at the last minute.  Will they ever learn.
