Hope Town, Abaco, The Bahamas

Image
Last day in Hope Town. Just checking the schedule, while waiting for the ferry back to Marsh Harbour. Everything runs on Bahamian time.  It was meant to be here 10 minutes ago.

Am I looking at my past; or into the future. I wait; I contemplate, as the waves roll by. I look, I listen, sometimes I pray. If it is my future what would it say.

With a break in the weather dad and I ventured out into the harbour for a splash and a play. The wether forecast for the next few days is stormy which is how I would describe my relationship with my father for picking the one week when in rains in the worlds sunniest place.

After three days of rain we decided to go out for the night to the pub to avoid random shootings due to cabin fever.  Anyway after a few games of backgammon I fleeced dad out of four Pina Colada's and three Rum and Coke's (which I will collect when I am 18). I hooked up with some French Canadian (Canuks) gals and we made this jigsaw lighthouse. Once we got talking I found out they are on a two year sailing trip around the world with their mum and dad.  Now that's an adventure.

When mum and dad told me we were going to the Bahamas this is not what I had pictured in my mind.

It's been nearly three  gruelling months on the road with planes to catch bags to pack and different time zones to get used to.  But finally we get our time in the sun in the Bahamas

Now they've got me living like a backpacker sleeping at airports trying to save on accommodation costs. Dad said because we spent so much at Disney World we have to watch what we spend from now on. But this is taking things a little too far. I think, he thinks we can live at the airport for awhile like Tom Hanks in the movie 'The Terminal' Please someone help me.

It's been a long day for a little girl like me and I am exhausted after running around after dad taking photos of everything that moved just because it was his birthday today. So not to get into it too much I think I will post some photos and then go to bed. We're back there tomorrow.
